Now that 2010 has come and gone, we thought you might find it interesting to know about some of our firm’s projects in 2010 which was one of the most fascinating, varied, challenging and interesting in our eight year history.

Although much of Horwath HTL’s work is still in hotels, the tourism and leisure sectors are a significant and growing part of our business.  The South Pacific Islands have also been a strong source of business in recent years.

Our client base, which traditionally has been hotel and serviced apartment developers and investors (i.e. new developments, acquisitions and existing hotels) and central and local governments (e.g. visitor attractions, events and convention/sports venues and hotels), was significantly complemented by banks and receivers in 2010 in respect of distressed hotels and serviced apartment developments.

Our 4th annual Hotel Industry Conference including the inaugural hotel awards attended by 300 delegates, sponsors and exhibitors was again a success, in conjunction with our co-hosts New Zealand Hotel Council and Simpson Grierson.  The 2011 conference will be held on 12 May at the SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre.

All the best for 2011.
